Well, we all knew it had to come sometime...just wish it had come before my fruit trees bloomed. The poor plants don't know what to think. I've had daffodils in bloom since before Christmas and my daughter called to report there were sunflowers in bloom in downtown Atlanta...in December! Weird. I must admit today is a beautiful day, despite the frigid air, but I'm thankful to be watching it from the inside out.

I'm having so much fun experimenting with different approaches in water media for expressing my personal take on kudzu for my upcoming exhibition. I've painted on Aquaboard, splashed on gessoed paper, created texture on paper with gesso and tissue paper, poured and manipulated paint on Yupo and more. I am especially enjoying the ability to lift paint on these sufaces and identify shapes that "magically" appear after pouring and dripping paint...the kudzu seems to paint itself!
